Great Goal for the Price!
I own about 3 acres and was looking to setup a practice course in my back yard. I spend a few weeks researching the baskets on the market and how much time and money I would invest building my own. I finally settled on the "Pacific Outdoors / Instep Goal" because it looked to be a great value for the price (I caught them on sale for $80ea + free shipping).I had the opportunity to see the Innova Skillshot in person and was not impressed with it. It folds up like an umbrella for easy portability, but is tiny and looks cheaply made. I also looked at the Halex but the pictures didn't make it appear to be as sturdy or as easy to mount permanently at a later date. The Innova DISCatcher and DGA M-14 both appear to be made out of heavier material (from the pictures) and they may be better for a more public course, but at almost twice the price it wasn't worth for me to find out.I purchased 3 goals and so far I am very happy with them. Assembly was quick and easy, they are very stable and the quality is good. Many reviews have mentioned adding a second set of chains (which would be very easy) but I haven't noticed a big problem with them. I will probably be purchasing the same goal when I expand my course.Update: 5 years + some abuse later and the goals are holding up well. No rust at all.

GREAT VALUE for a great product
This was the least expensive disc golf basket I could find on the internet. It catches discs well but some get through since there are no inner chains. I was able to add inner chains very easily by going to the local hardware store and buying galvanized chains and plenty of S hooks. My friends bolt cutters came in handy too! I love how you can quickly assemble/disassemble it with the quick release pins. I can disassemble it and it takes up very little room if you want to take it camping etc... It is pretty light in weight but yet well constructed. I took mine recently to a temporary disc golf course and a guy there had one just like mine, his was several years old and still holding up very well. I am very tempted to buy a few more and make a mini course on my 2 acres. Just what I needed to improve my short game and the youth height adjustment is an added bonus. Highly recommend over building your own. I would much rather pay [...] more to have a solid basket w/ quick assemble/disassemble features than spend several hours building an ok disc basket. The 3 discs that come w/ it are trash. Hope this helps.

Great product
I really like this disc golf target. It works very well, catching almost everything that hits it. It is rare for a shot to go through the chains. It is well worth the price for the fun you wiil have with it. It is such a great outdoor activity for the family at any age.It allows me to play in the yard when I don't have time to go to a disc golf course. I have also taken it to a park down the street for longer shots. It is very easy to carry it, break it down, pack in the car and set up again. My putt and approach shots are improving.I liked this so much, I bought a second one on eBay for $79 delivered. Now my son and I can shoot back and forth, like horse shoes between 2 goals. You have to really search (disc golf goal, basket, target) on eBay to find the one at this lower price.

Hard to beat for the money
I've had this for a few weeks now, and it's awesome! My putting confidence has improved a ton, and I'm able to also work on short upshots in my back yard. Now I need to train my dog to stop chewing on my missed putts...The basket itself is constructed well, welded, powder coated metal. The chains bang the center pole for the distinct 'ching' sound, but you could put some pipe insulation around it if you didn't want to drive your neighbors crazy. A lot of people may want to add chains, but it's not a big deal for me... if I blow through a putt at home, I'll probably make it on the course.Pros:- Easy to take apart and put together. Fits in the trunk of a car.- Light enough to carry around without too much effort.- Better approximation at a real disc golf target than I could DIY for the same amount of money. Homemade baskets can easily cost more, and not look as good.- Two basket height positions (newbie/kid and standard) make it suited for teaching new players as well as matching the PDGA specs.Cons:- Fewer chains than more expensive baskets, easy to blow through on hard shots.- Round base design means placement is best on level ground.- Discs designs aren't bad, but the plastic beat up about three times faster than DX, and even brand new all the discs were super flippy. You're not buying this for the discs, anyways.- The center pole has two main pieces, and there is no way to lock them together. If the basket is in the lower position, you can carry the whole target around by lifting the basket. With the basket in the higher position, you have to carry it by holding on to the center pole. It would be much nicer if there was a way to secure this without having to DIY a solution.

Great product
this basket is a great practice basket, i personally wouldnt mind playing with it on a course but i know others strictly use it as a practice basket. I added an inner row of chains with a 7 inch center ring and i added a 3 inch center ring to the already existing outer row of chains, this prevents a good majority of spit outs from happening. ill admit that there were a lot of spit outs before i added that inner row and center rings, some dont like adding the inner row because they say it makes it too easy to make it in, but i personally wouldnt go without the inner row, just my preference, it only cost like $20 to buy the extra chain and some s-hooks from any hardware store and the center rings i got from michaels. but really either way you go this is a great basket for the price. you will pay double for a name brand basket of this construction (made of all metal, not like those crappy portable fabric baskets like the innova traveler). i would say this basket is just as portable, it may be a little heavier but it does break down really easy, and i usually never break down mine, i just carry it all connected and that works just fine too
