Mens Skyriser/Sunrise/Supremacy/Welt High Hiker Boot

I have been a forester for over 20 years. I have worked in the blue ridge mountains and great lakes relying on Asolos and they always fit my feet well and have given very solid stability. These boots are built like all the other Asolos I have worn, rock solid.I bought the sunrise hiker boot for an upcoming 2 week trip to Colorado where I plan on climbing (6) 14,000' mountains, fishing 10 lakes, a couple of streams and soaking in a hot spring. I will be in the kind of countryside that will test a pair of boots to its limit. Slippery talus, cobblestone, big rock, slippery rocks, etc. Based on a few more leisurely strolls after having prepped the boot for serious mountaineering, I think this boot will work nicely.It has a Vibram (not vikram) sole similar to a bifida if you remember that one. It's a good overall sole. The shank is solid, lateral movement very limited, sturdy solid protection for walking on sideways rocks. Exactly what I expect from Asolo.You can do what you want, but what I did is entirely coat the outside of the boots with a judicious level of mink oil and rub it in to every seam and crevice in the boot. This adds a protective layer to the boot and makes it very waterproof.I think this is a really great boot and although the sole is glued in and not sewn down, I still think this boot can last at least 2 years and at the cost of this boot, I think it is an exceptional value for anyone who wants a capable boot for hiking in upland and rocky mountain terrain.

This is my second pair of Asolo Sunrise boots. They say they are true to size, and I wear a 9.5, but ordered a size 10 the first time, as I have flat feet and use Superfeet orthotics along with Dr. Scholl's Work Insoles in all my boots and shoes. I wear Thorlo light hiking socks all the time, too, so I need a boot with plenty of extra room inside.. The size 10's ran a little tight and narrow, just barely fitting, but after stretching a week or so, they were OK. On this second pair, I ordered a size 10.5 and it was perfect. No more cramped toes and plenty of room for orthotics, padded insoles and my feet. Arch support is OK, nothing special, but the orthotics I use take care of that. The Vibram sole is grippy and quiet when walking. Now that I have a better fitting pair of boots, I will test them out in the local mountains and desert. If you have normal feet, these boots are fine, if you need orthotics and insoles too, then order a full size larger. The toe box is nice, plenty of room for the big toes.

Wear these over Timberlands any day.

I really appreciate the detail within the smooth design. I truly hope Asolo never parts with this classic look.So, I got these boots for going to work everyday in the cold-weather in Philly, and I wanted a new look. Soon as I tried them on, my Wife had one word, Yes! With a slight lower-lip bite... Soooo, ummm yeah.I'm loving the durability, and on top of everything they improved the look of my work uniform. Hot shoes Bruh, seriously. Definitely my new go to.

I have worn higher end Asolo boots for 20 years now and through I would try these since the quit making the 520gvx in black. They are ok for the price but the quality isn’t anywhere close to the higher end Asolos’s.

Great fit and is very comfortable i usually wear a 10 and 1/2 i got a 11 and have alittle more room around the the so if i put on thick socks in still cool n comfy

boots look good and fit good also. Light weight.. No complaints so far...

Great looking boot. Wrong size and the duty fees were 45$. Return out of my pocket and a hassle to get the duty reimbursement. Should clearly state this in the add. No complaints on the product.
