Korean Cooking for non-Koreans
Ever wondered what to do with that jar of kimchi you bought on impulse?Would you like to expand your taste and flavor range, and understand something about Korean style cuisine? This simple and well illustrated little book will help you answer all three of the questions above and much more.It is not the last word in cooking Korean, but it will get you started with easy to prepare dishes. Once you have explored the book, and maybe prepared a dish or two, perhaps you will not be intimidated or put off so as to avoid going to a Korean restaurant.I have a sister-in-law who has a granddaughter, a journalism major, currently living and teaching (English) in Korea. The S-I-L is pretty much meat and potatoes bound, and I thought that this little book would be something of interest to her and maybe help her to understand that all over the world, people are the same in that we all like good things to eat.And it might give her something to talk with the granddaughter about as well to help the granddaughter share her experience and adventures as a stranger in a strange land. This is a great little book for any and all of these purposes -- for personal edification, for culinary exploration, and for a gift.

So healthy
Korean food is healthy and fun to make. It's like the best marriage of Asian cuisines ..Great presentation (pretty food), lots of veggies, right mix of protein with starch and lots of flavor. So it's a good starter book if you enjoy Asian food, my new food trend for this year, I'm going to try other Korean recipes books too since this book open up a new world of yummy, and I now love their food.

cute little book..but
I am Korean and often cook Korean food for home and parties. While this book offers easy direction to follow, most dishes are not authentic Korean food.I gave this book to my friend, and she is excited, though. But, if you are serious about learning Korean food, this isn't it.

East to Follow
Our Korean exchange student wanted some "home cooking". This book helped me satisfy his yearnings with ease. He claimed, "Just like back home!"

This book was purchased as a gift, which we have not given yet. Just glancing through it, though, it seems to be what I hoped it would be.
